Spain is a hidden treasure. It’s the largest vineyard in the world, but we only know a small part of it.
Everyone loves this country, praises its gastronomy, is dazzled by its landscapes and appreciates the good humor of its inhabitants. So we decided to show you the lesser-known Spanish vineyards through the eyes of privileged observers of the remote Iberian countryside: the shepherds.
Each wine is a story of a man and his territory. We therefore combine our work as winemakers with that of the shepherd who shows us the landscapes surrounding our vineyards seen through his eyes.
ANDRÉS ALONSO is a shepherd from the Sierra de la Culebra, Aliste (Zamora). He is a friend of the winery and has inspired us in this adventure. We dedicate this voyage to him.

WE ARE COMMITTED
The economic role of a company is very often the only criterion associated with the success of an entrepreneurial project. We may be nostalgic, but we believe that a company must also respond to a concrete need, and contribute to the building of “living together”.
We believe viscerally that we and our children need simple, concrete and tangible goals. Is there any greater pleasure than pleasing others? Do you come to rest when you have achieved a goal in line with your values? Do you get goose bumps when you see beautiful, clean, wild landscapes? Then let’s go for it.
We live in a consumer society. So let’s use our purchasing power to influence a more humane and ecological future. Our choice in purchasing may have more impact than our vote during the election.
We have decided to explain simply what we do and to commit ourselves socially through this ANDRÉS ALONSO project:
- To pay the grower correctly and in the long term
- To guarantee jobs in the wine villages
- To invest in our winery in more efficient and ecological facilities and products
- To support the environmental and social role of transhumance and its shepherds
This is a real, local economy that is very simple to explain.
We have chosen to support a profession that is consistent with our values. We collaborate with the TRASHUMANCIA Y NATURALEZA association www.trashumanciaynaturaleza.org which has been advocating transhumance as a tool to combat climate change and protect biodiversity since 1997.
We are a grain of sand? We believe more in the sum of concrete individual initiatives than in an ocean of words.
WE ARE RAÍCES IBÉRICAS!
Since 1998 we have been travelling through the lesser-known wine-producing regions of Spain, visiting plateaus of old vines up to an altitude of 1,000 meters, searching for indigenous Iberian grape varieties, listening to farmers and winemakers from all over the country.
We make the best possible wines and bring stories that tell of forgotten regions and their people.
Our winery is located in the village of Maluenda in the heart of the Calatayud appellation. It is our base camp and the starting point of our adventures.
Come and see us! We will tell you about our travels.
